Fort McMurray Fire 5th Anniversary

Fort McMurray Fire 5th Anniversary

On May 1st 2016, a wildfire set off in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. In just a couple days, it engulfed the community and eventually forced the evacuation of over 80,000 residents.

Firefighters were assisted by their counterparts worldwide. Our Canadian Forces joined with RCMP and various provincial agencies in effort to destabilize the fire.

In late 2016, I was given the honor of being recognized alongside an extraordinary bunch of residents, who supported the community during that time of turmoil.

I was invited to board the Rocky Mountaineer Train for Heroes for an unforgettable tour across Western Canada. Subscribe for more content about the fire in Fort Mac, its resolution and aftermath.
